STARTING POINT

There is a very special connection between the painter Joan Miró and the town of Mont-Roig del Camp. In this small village, his parents owned a farmhouse where the artist spent his summers and where, in the early 1900s, he settled to recover from an illness. It was during this stay at the farmhouse that he decided to devote himself entirely to painting, a period in which the first stage of his work was conceived.
Life in the countryside, landscapes, colors, and light became his source of inspiration.
Precisely to promote Miró’s work, highlight its connection with Mont-Roig, and pay tribute to the artist, the Mas Miró Foundation was created, transforming the farmhouse into Mas Miró, a must-visit tourist attraction if you want to delve deeper into the life and work of this genius.
Mas Miró is made up of different buildings:
- The farmhouse
- The garden
- The studio
- The henhouse
- The fields
- The chapel
- The corral
