THE MAGIC OF NATURE

Around 45 km from the campsite lies one of the most beautiful landscapes in Catalonia: the Ebro Delta. A place where river and sea merge, where the waters of the Ebro blend with the calm of the Mediterranean. Nature has shaped a landscape filled with stunning beaches, lagoons, rice fields and rich wildlife, with flamingos as the true stars.
It is a vast area with a wide variety of environments: river, bays, sea, beaches, dunes, wetlands, coastal lagoons, islands, riverside forests and springs. An endless range of places to explore and activities to enjoy:
• Birdwatching: lagoons such as El Garxal, L’Encanyissada and La Tancada are ideal for observing birds. Species vary by season, though flamingos are present year-round.
• Punta del Fangar: a sandy peninsula of 410 hectares with a desert-like landscape and dunes stretching 6 km along the sea.
• Kayaking on the Ebro: several routes allow you to explore the area from the calm waters of the river.
• Rice fields and gastronomy: the Delta’s rice fields rival those of Bali. Perfect for walking or cycling and tasting local rice dishes.
• Ebro river mouth: boat cruises to witness the meeting of river and sea, or through Els Alfacs Bay with tasting options.
• Trabucador Beach: a 6.5 km stretch of sand reaching into the sea — wild and expansive.
• Fishing port and fish market of Sant Carles de la Ràpita: a traditional harbor with daily fish auctions.
There are many more options, so planning your route is recommended due to distances between locations.
Nature in its purest form just a short distance away.
